The new course of “Graphic Design in the Middle East” aims to explain various graphic design works from the Middle East and to examine the evolving design styles and their relationship to economy, technology and pop culture in the Middle East.
For the consecutive fourth year, graphic design students are shortlisted for Dubai Lynx competitions.
In a continuously growing entry numbers in the Integrated Competition, Sarah Abdel Jalil and Amira Imadi were 2 out of 8 talents that were shortlisted from the MENA region.
Meet Joan Baz, whenever she is not at LAU giving courses in animation, illustration or other graphic design related subjects, you can find her in her design studio Cardamon working on one of her many exciting projects.
Alumnus Mohammad Houhou who recently graduated from the Gobelins school of images is presenting his graduation short film entitled “The Ostrich Politic”. This movie was selected for Clermont-Ferrand National Competiton.

On December 10th, the Rima Hourani Exhibition Hall at the Byblos Campus hosted the 99 Posters exhibition. The space was filled with cleverly designed posters putting into practice various design pillars like typography, layout, grid structure, color and composition. Other than showcasing design principles, these posters paid tribute to Lebanese women that left their trace on society.
Alumnus and instructor Bahij Jaroudi’s skills has won him many awards including the 2015 Mahmoud Kahil Award for best graphic illustrator in the Arab world and the 2013 KITABI Award for Arab Children's Literature.
