In what can be described as a fun, interactive and quirky talk, Karen Heard, a London College of Fashion Academic, shared with the room how an idea grows from a thought or interaction into a full fledged multi-facetted project.
The talk has been the culmination of two projects proposed by Heard to the first year students and seniors.
With the first year group, the academic worked on a “Streetwear” project that will help the students to develop and define their work to lead into considered, directional fashion decisions.
As for the seniors, the guest instructor guided them to consider the overall story that each student’s portfolio needs to say
There is no doubt that Heard’s invitation has greatly impacted our students and shifted the way they generate ideas and how they see their concepts through.
