Congratulations are in order to the two fashion design students Lea-Maria Nahas and Diala Dabbous for winning the Inas Abou Ayyash Foundation (IAAF) Best Entrepreneurial Project 2018, an award that was competed for by students from different departments and faculties of the university.
Students were all prepared by their fashion entrepreneurship courses’ instructor Yesr Saab. The two leveled courses are designed to prepare upcoming designers who want to start their own business by presenting a Business plan at the end of the academic year. It is catered for fashion design students who haven't taken any business courses before.
And with these joints efforts, LMN (Lea-Maria and Diala’s project) won these two students a prestigious award and 10,000$. This project trains underprivileged people and those with special needs to create unique made-to-measure men’s clothing. Its core message is empowering women while challenging traditional menswear styles. “We wanted to prove that fashion design students can also be successful social entrepreneurs,” said Nahas.
