The theme of WHY Graphic Design Festival in Florence Italy for this year was, "physically distant, socially connected". Out of over 250 international entries, 20 works were selected for the final round, of which Farah Awada's work developed during the Poster Design course.

Rita Azar and Christina Tahtouh, our graphic design students, are two out of the 12 winning student entries in graphic design for Creative Quarterly 60. The students’ projects were published in Creative Quarterly, Autumn 2020 and posted on the Creative Quarterly online gallery.
Fashion Design student Karen Abou Alwan was chosen to attend the Elie Saab fashion show backstage in Paris. The experience gave her an insight on the organization and professionalism needed to make the show happen.
Felicitations are in place to Samar Mogharbel, adjunct faculty, who was awarded the Silver plaque among 73 participating artists from Argentina, Austria, Croatia, Canada, China, Lebanon, Israel, Italy, Germany, Romania, Singapur, Slovenia and Urugvay at the MIKS 20: International exhibition of ceramics and glass.
Five of our LAU graphic design students have had their work shortlisted at the Taiwan International Student Design Competition in the Visual Design Category. Out of over 20,000 entries from 860 schools and departments in 64 countries/regions, seven posters from LAU students were selected as finalists.
SArD joins a community of institutions to lead and advance art and design education in the region. The Fine Arts, Interior Design, Graphic Design and Fashion Design programs all underwent curricular revisions and were designated as Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree programs.
Congratulation to our graphic design students: Chloe Maria El Khoueiri snatched first place for the MBC Youth Award and second place for the Masar Student Print Award, and her peers Jean-Pierre El Hajj and Hana Ghemrawi jointly took second place for the MBC Youth Award.
With the cumulative points they scored, the three students reaped the University of the Year title for LAU.
